KETAMINE-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY (KAP) PROGRAM
KETAMINE-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY PROGRAM
A collaboration between Washington Integrative Mental Health Services and Avesta Ketamine Wellness
Our Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) program is a structured, short-term treatment designed to support meaningful psychological change through the combined effects of ketamine and psychotherapy.
This program is built to help patients access deeper insight, increase psychological flexibility, and catalyze lasting shifts in how they relate to themselves and their lives. It is best suited for individuals seeking a focused, transformative experience, often as a complement to longer-term care.
INTEGRATING KETAMINE & PSYCHOTHERAPY
A central feature of our program is the continuous presence of a therapist during ketamine sessions.
This in-session support often enhances both the depth of the experience and the durability of outcomes, helping translate insights into lasting change.
Ketamine can open a powerful window of heightened neuroplasticity and altered awareness. Having a trained therapist present during this process allows patients to:
-
Feel emotionally safe and supported throughout the experience
-
Navigate difficult or unexpected material with guidance
-
Engage more directly with meaningful psychological content as it arises
-
Have support during the integration process
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The program combines medical and psychological care across a carefully sequenced series of steps:
-
Comprehensive dual screening (medical + psychiatric)
-
Preparation sessions to establish goals, build skills, and set expectations
-
Two ketamine sessions (including one extended session), each supported by a therapist throughout
-
Integration sessions to process insights
